چکیده

This paper reports the Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE) system that our ‘IKOMA team’ developed at TAC 2010. We implemented a new method that identifies entailment sentences using local-novelty detection. This method determines whether a Hypothesis (H) is local-novel. ‘H is local-novel’ means that H is the new information first appeared in TH , and TH denotes the text (T) that entails H. If H is local-novel, the T that was published before TH can be recognized as no entailment. The experimental results show that this method detects T that does not entail H correctly without setting similarity threshold to be high, and raises precision as minimizing the decline of recall.

Sagan in TAC2010: A Machine Learning Approach to RTE within a Corpus

This paper describes the Sagan system in the context of the Sixth Pascal Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE6) and the RTE task within a Corpus. The system employs a Support Vector Machine classifier which uses semantic similarity metrics to sentence level using only WordNet as source of knowledge, and co-reference analysis. Additionally, we proposed a baseline to the Novelty Detection subtask.

IKOMA at TAC2011: A Method for Recognizing Textual Entailment using Lexical-level and Sentence Structure-level features

This paper describes the Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE) system that our teams developed for TAC 2011. Our system combines the entailment score calculated by lexicallevel matching with the machine-learningbased filtering mechanism using various features obtained from lexical-level, chunk-level and predicate argument structure-level information. In the filtering mechanism, we try to discard...

The Sixth PASCAL Recognizing Textual Entailment Challenge

This paper presents the Sixth Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE-6) challenge. This year a major innovation was introduced, as the traditional Main Task was replaced by a new task, similar to the RTE-5 Search Pilot, in which Textual Entailment is performed on a real corpus in the Update Summarization scenario. A subtask was also proposed, aimed at detecting novel information. To continue the e...

The Seventh PASCAL Recognizing Textual Entailment Challenge

This paper presents the Seventh Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE-7) challenge. This year’s challenge replicated the exercise proposed in RTE-6, consisting of a Main Task, in which Textual Entailment is performed on a real corpus in the Update Summarization scenario; a Main subtask aimed at detecting novel information; and a KBP Validation Task, in which RTE systems had to validate the output...

EDITS 3.0 at RTE-7

This paper overviews CELI’s1 participation in the Main, Novelty and KBP task organized within the RTE-7 Evaluation Campaign. Our submissions have been produced running the EDITS (Edit Distance Textual Entailment Suite) open source RTE package, which allows to experiment with different combinations of algorithms, entailment rules, and optimization strategies. The evaluation on test data confirme...
